As a motorhome owner, having a reliable and efficient power source is crucial for enjoying the freedom and comfort of life on the road. Your motorhome’s batteries are the heart of its electrical system, providing the energy needed to run lights, appliances, and electronics while boondocking or dry camping. This guide will explore the different types of batteries commonly used in motorhomes, their characteristics, and factors to consider when choosing the best option for your specific needs.

The Importance of Motorhome Batteries

Often called “domestic” or “auxiliary,” they are responsible for powering everything from your interior lights and water pump to your refrigerator and entertainment system when you’re not connected to shore power or running a generator. Without a reliable and properly sized battery bank, you may find yourself unable to enjoy the comforts of home while on the road.

Types of Motorhome Batteries

  1. Flooded Lead-Acid Batteries
    • Pros: Inexpensive upfront cost, widely available, easy to replace
    • Cons: Shorter lifespan, require regular maintenance, potential for acid leaks, heavy and bulky
  2. Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) Batteries
    • Pros: Maintenance-free, spill-proof, can be mounted in any orientation, resistant to vibration and shock
    • Cons: More expensive than flooded lead-acid, require specialized charging systems, limited deep discharge ability
  3. Gel Cell Batteries
    • Pros: Maintenance-free, spill-proof, can be mounted in any orientation, resistant to vibration and shock
    • Cons: More expensive than flooded lead-acid, require specialized charging systems, sensitive to overcharging
  4. Lithium-Ion Batteries
    • Pros: Lightweight, compact, long lifespan (up to 10 years or more), deep discharge capability, high energy density, faster charging
    • Cons: Significantly higher upfront cost, require specialized charging and monitoring systems

Choosing the Right Battery Type

Consider the following factors when selecting batteries for your motorhome:

  • Power needs
  • Budget
  • Usage patterns
  • Maintenance preferences
  • Weight considerations
  • Cold weather performance

Battery Capacity and Sizing

To calculate your required battery capacity:

  1. List all appliances and devices you plan to run simultaneously with their wattage ratings.
  2. Add up the total wattage.
  3. Divide the total wattage by the battery voltage (typically 12V) to get the total amp draw.
  4. Multiply the total amp draw by the number of hours you plan to run these devices without recharging.
  5. Add a 20-30% safety factor to account for battery aging and inefficiencies.

Common battery capacities for motorhomes range from 100 to 400 Ah, depending on the RV size and power needs.

Battery Bank Configuration

Motorhome batteries can be wired in parallel (for increased capacity) or in series (for increased voltage). Most motorhome applications use parallel wiring to increase overall amp-hour capacity. Use batteries of the same type, age, and capacity when wiring in parallel to ensure balanced charging and discharging.

Charging and Maintaining Your Batteries

Proper charging and maintenance are crucial for battery longevity and performance:

  • Follow manufacturer recommendations for charging rates and times.
  • Use a smart charging system to optimize charging and extend battery life.
  • For lead-acid batteries, check electrolyte levels periodically and replenish with distilled water as needed.
  • Clean battery terminals and check for corrosion regularly.

Alternator Charging

While driving, your motorhome’s alternator can charge the house batteries. Consider installing a battery isolator or DC-DC charger to ensure efficient charging and prevent draining the starting battery.

Battery Monitoring and Management Systems

Invest in a battery monitoring system to track:

  • State of charge
  • Voltage
  • Temperature
  • Charging and discharging rates

Popular battery monitors include the Victron BMV series and the Xantrex LinkPRO.

Supplemental Power Sources

Consider supplementing your battery bank with:

  1. Generators: Provide reliable AC power for high-wattage appliances and battery charging.
  2. Solar Panels: Harness solar energy to recharge batteries during the day, reducing reliance on generators or shore power.

Lithium Battery Brands for RVs

Popular lithium battery brands designed for RV use include:

  • Battle Born Batteries
  • Renogy Lithium Iron Phosphate Batteries
  • Victron Energy Lithium Batteries

Cost Comparison

Battery TypeInitial CostLifespanLong-Term Cost
Flooded Lead-AcidLow3-5 yearsModerate
AGMModerate4-7 yearsModerate
Lithium-IonHigh8-10+ yearsLow

Environmental Impact and Recycling

Consider the environmental impact of different battery types:

  • Lead-acid batteries are highly recyclable but contain toxic materials.
  • Lithium batteries have a lower environmental impact during use but can be more challenging to recycle.

Always dispose of old batteries through proper recycling channels.

Battery Warranty

Typical warranty periods for RV batteries:

  • Lead-acid batteries: 1-3 years
  • AGM batteries: 3-5 years
  • Lithium batteries: 5-10 years

Check warranty terms for coverage details, including cycle life and depth of discharge limitations.

Inverter Compatibility

Ensure your chosen batteries are compatible with your motorhome’s inverter system. Some inverters may require specific battery types or configurations for optimal performance.

Cold Weather Performance

Battery performance can decrease significantly in cold weather:

  • Lead-acid batteries may lose up to 50% capacity at freezing temperatures.
  • Lithium batteries perform better in cold, but may require a heating system for charging below freezing.

Safety Considerations

Prioritize safety when working with batteries:

  • Ensure proper ventilation in the battery compartment.
  • Wear protective equipment when handling batteries.
  • Regularly inspect and clean battery connections.
  • Follow proper charging procedures to avoid overcharging.
  • Dispose of old batteries through appropriate recycling channels.

By considering these factors and following best practices for battery selection, installation, and maintenance, you can ensure a reliable power source for all your motorhome adventures.

In order to better learn about tax and accounting services related to such a serious step, you can contact Real Tax USA.

Purchasing and owning an RV in the US can provide you with independence and flexibility, but successful implementation requires careful consideration of tax considerations and compliance with all relevant laws. Your ability to manage your tax obligations and optimize your financial situation will be a key factor in creating a comfortable RV life.

Conclusion:

Buying and owning an RV in the USA is an exciting adventure that provides freedom, flexibility and comfort. However, it is important to remember that with this freedom and flexibility come tax and legal obligations. In this article, we’ve covered a number of tax tips and strategies to help you manage the tax aspects of purchasing and owning an RV.

Summer may be the time when most people travel in their campers, but winter travel is just as rewarding. With quieter campsites, breezy morning rides, cosy evenings, and plenty of campers available often at off-peak prices, there’s a lot to love about camper life during the colder months. But if you’re planning on exploring this winter, we know you probably don’t want to spend the entire trip in your camper, which is why we asked Call tracking reviews experts for their best winter outing tips.

The Key Is Preparation

It’s crucial to be ready if you intend to go for a walk in the hills during the winter. Even if the weather is good when you start out, it can quickly change, especially on exposed ridges, so it’s important to make sure you have everything you need.

Prepare Your Route

In the winter, you should familiarise yourself with the route before beginning a walk or hike. Navigation might be more difficult in harsh winter circumstances, and it’s simple to get lost. Additionally, it’s a good idea to divide your route into pieces so you may examine each one for any potential dangers or navigational difficulties and make any required revisions beforehand.

You should be conscious of your limitations as well as the weather. If inclement weather is expected, you can still go outside, but it’s advisable to modify your plans and stay on well-marked routes and lower land rather than going up into the hills.

It’s also crucial to have the proper navigational equipment. While most people use GPS devices to find their way, you should always have a map and compass with you as a backup. You need to know how to go back to the fundamentals in case you need to because signals can go out in more remote areas and batteries drain faster in cold weather.

The last thing to remember is to always let someone know where you’re going and how long you intend to be gone. That way, if you don’t return when you’re supposed to, someone can sound the alarm.

Get Ready For Any Weather

Your layering method will be crucial to keeping you warm and dry when you walk in the winter because you will frequently encounter colder weather.

Start with a base layer that will help you regulate your temperature and wick away sweat. Because they are breathable and warm, merino base layers are a wonderful option throughout the cooler months, however synthetic alternatives are swiftly catching up. Then, to help retain heat and keep you warm, you need an insulating mid-layer or fleece. A waterproof outer layer will likewise keep you dry and shield you from the elements.

Although it may be tempting to wear every layer when you initially set out, once you’re moving, your body will begin to warm up. Instead, include an extra mid-layer or fleece in your pack so you may add more layers if necessary once you start walking.

Also, don’t forget the extras! For the sake of keeping your extremities warm and dry, you must wear a cap and gloves. Neck warmers are another excellent addition because they may be used as a headband, sweatband, or even a temporary bandage in addition to keeping you warm and sealing any gaps where air can enter.

First Aid Kit

As soon as you’ve figured out your layering technique, it’s time to decide what to put in your rucksack before leaving. Your emergency kit, which needs to be customized for winter circumstances, is one of the most crucial things to get right.

Since there is less daylight in the winter, a lantern or headlamp is essential for winter walking. To ensure that you won’t be left in the dark, you’ll also need to pack extra batteries.

Even if you’re simply planning to go out for the day, shelter is still important. In order to exchange body heat if a number of you are walking, it might be worth it to pack a group shelter rather than individual bivvy bags.

Finally, bring extra socks, gloves, and a set of base layers. In this manner, you’ll be able to add a layer if you merely need some for extra warmth or change into something dry if you end up becoming wet.

Expert Winter Gear

The risk of trips and falls is higher during winter hikes, especially if there is snow or ice on the ground, therefore it is worth investing in the specialized equipment you need to stay safe. Although they may seem frightening, ice axes and crampons are easy to use and offer crucial assistance when hiking in cold weather.

An ice axe can be used as an anchor point when scrambling or ascending a steep slope, as well as to provide you with more stability and help you determine your footing while walking. They’re also excellent in preventing falls should you slip.

Crampons, which you may connect to your walking boots, can help increase your traction and security while walking.

Give yourself the necessary skills.

It’s a good idea to enrol in a winter skills course since you’ll learn the fundamentals of switching from summer to winter walking. Avalanche awareness is a topic included in many winter skill courses, giving you the knowledge and abilities to understand avalanche warnings and modify your path as needed.

You could even combine one of the many courses offered throughout the UK with a trip in your campervan. What could be better than travelling while picking up new skills?

A cruise is a super unforgettable trip, the memories of which will live in the memory for a long time.

A sea cruise is the perfect opportunity to visit and see many countries at once. As we set sail, our ship calls at ports, opening the doors of world capitals, ancient cities and mysterious islands.

Sea cruise is a vacation consisting of many factors, so the choice of a cruise must be approached seriously and from different angles. Determine which parameter is the most important for you and use it as a guide in making your decision.

Cruise length: The length of your cruise depends on the time and funds available to you. The variety of cruises ranges from two-day holidays to semi-annual round-the-world trips. The most popular are 7, 10 and 12 nights, with 14-16 nights in exotic regions. If you are choosing your first ever cruise, it is wise to opt for the shorter version.

Cruise start date: The cruise schedule is structured so that each region has cruises in the most favorable season. If no space is available on the date you are interested in, be prepared to consider cruises on similar dates. In any case, the earlier you book, the more likely you are to hit the spot.

Price: The price of a cruise can often (though not always) give you a rough idea of what type of passengers will make up the majority of the cruise, how “luxurious” the ship will be, and what level of food and service will be provided. The amount you are willing to spend will determine the size, location and type of your stateroom. Here it is important to find a compromise: if comfort is more important to you.

The size of the liner: Cruise liners are divided into three sizes:

  • small from 2 to 25 thousand tons
  • medium from 25 to 50 thousand tons
  • large over 50 thousand tons

Regardless of size, all cruise ships provide all basic cruise services: accommodations, plentiful meals, excursions to ports of call, and onboard entertainment. However, some do it much better than others (but also charge more). That said, each of these three categories has its fans.

Spaciousness of the liner: An idea of the spaciousness of the ship can be obtained by dividing its tonnage by the number of passengers. If the resulting ratio is less than 10, you will find a very cramped liner; 10 to 20 – the liner will be moderately spacious; 20 to 30 – quite spacious; 30 to 50 – very spacious; over 50 – you will find yourself in the most spacious environment.

Service standards: Service standards on board can be judged by the ratio of passenger capacity to crew size. The best service is on ships with no more than 2 passengers per crew member.

We live in the States, but we’ve been traveling in Europe for about five years. We have traveled to France, Spain, and Morocco. On these trips we met travelers in motorhomes: young surfers off the Atlantic coast and grown-up Frenchmen in awe of North Africa. We were so inspired that we bought our own.

I knew the pros of a motorhome before I bought one: a few years ago my friends and I rented a camper for the May holidays and drove up the coast of the Caspian Sea. It was one of the most fun and memorable adventures. In a motor home you can stay wherever you want, and wake up every morning with a new view out the window.

But I realized the disadvantages of motorhomes later, when we became owners. About them I will tell in detail in the article.

The first motor home cost us $30,000. Within a year we had invested 10,000 dollars more in equipment, minor repairs and maintenance. After a year it was clear that the conceptually we like everything, but here’s a model of motorhome needs another. And we bought the second – a better level and more comfortable equipment. I will tell, how they differ and where we travel on a motorhome.

Motor home, aka autocamper, aka autohull – is a complete house for living, but on wheels. Such houses are made on the basis of the car. You might have seen them in the movies “Nomad Land” or “Little Miss Sunshine. You can travel in a motorhome wherever there are roads.

Motorhomes come in a variety of forms: from a trailer on wheels to an Integral, which is little different from an ordinary apartment in terms of comfort.

Outwardly, it looks like a large car, but inside there is a space equipped for living. Size is different: it can be a huge bus, as well as a medium-sized van. Inside there is a mandatory seat for the driver, and next to it a seat for passengers.

Car dealerships offer to buy a ready-made motor home: such a car was originally conceived to travel. But sometimes they convert used cars – for example, vans or minibuses are arranged under a caravan.

All the most memorable and romantic trips are always connected with water. It is the water that gives these trips an inevitable mood: relaxation, measuredness, romanticism of the trip. But water is insidious and can be the basis for tragedy. Observing certain rules, it is easy enough to avoid problems and protect yourself from the dangers of water travel.

Clear observance of instructions

When traveling by any water transport, you must clearly follow the prescribed instructions on the rules of being on board, carefully study the ways of evacuation in case of emergency. If you do not find the required instructions, be sure to ask the staff for them.

Check for the presence or absence of life jackets and swim rings.
If no lifejackets are available, do not hesitate to request them from the crew before the boat leaves the shore. Especially remember to do so if one of your company members cannot swim.

Keep your composure at all times

Even if there was an accident, emergency, force majeure, always (!) keep self-control. Calm down, breathe evenly and do not panic. Remember rule number one: follow the instructions exactly. They are prescribed in advance all the actions of passengers and staff in such situations. Be sure to listen to the instructions of the evacuation personnel.

Rules of being on the arranged beach

It is imperative that you follow these rules of stay. Do not litter, do not swim beyond the red buoys and do not come close to a water vehicle that is on the move. Always enter the water slowly, taking your time, carefully groping the bottom. This is especially important on wild beaches where the bottom is unexplored.

Never swim after a meal and when you are tired

After a long stay in the sun and in a state of intoxication too. All of the above conditions of the person at bathing practically guarantee a tragedy.

Never leave children without adult supervision. Not even for a minute.
If you like jumping into the water, then do it in a specially allocated place. If you have any doubts about your abilities, be sure to take a couple of lessons from a diving instructor.

Soberly assess your abilities

If you’re not sure about something – don’t do it. Water does not forgive mistakes. Don’t go out for a water ride in bad weather, don’t overload the boat, don’t get in the boat while intoxicated.

You love comfort, your home and travel, you like beautiful sunsets, the sea, different cities and interesting landscapes, but you do not know how you can combine all this? It is caravanning, or traveling around the world in a comfortable car, will make your dream come true.

The house on wheels is equipped not only with a sleeping place, but also with everything you need for recreation: a shower, a bathroom and household appliances. You will be free in your choice where and for how long to stay, at any time you can move to another place, no more need to coordinate with the tour operator hotels and vacation dates and carry heavy bags. Today we will tell you about all the advantages of such cars, as well as what autohouses are, and how to choose or convert from different models of cars.

Basic recommendations for operating a motorhome

If you plan to join the ranks of auto-travelers, you need to familiarize yourself with the peculiarities of operating motorhomes:

  • If this is your first time owning a motorhome, trips are recommended to make for short distances. Feel the car, learn how to drive, maneuver, drive in reverse, be aware of the “blind spot” that is behind the car. Additionally, you can install a rear view camera.
  • Braking distance of a loaded car is much higher than that of a normal car, while driving it is important to observe the speed limit and distance.
  • All lockers must be closed, the equipment is well secured, so that during the sharp braking and acceleration nothing will fall down.
  • Watch the readings of the devices, timely pass the maintenance, then the car will please you for many years.

What peculiarities await motorhome owners

Self-traveling can pose certain difficulties, which should be taken care of in advance:

  • Lack of campsites, especially in our country and neighboring countries. Accordingly, drinking water supplies should be taken care of in advance;
  • not all models of vehicles can pass through off-road;
  • you should clarify in advance the availability of campsites on the road, which can stop the motor homes. Often marked on the map resting places for cars;
  • Campgrounds are located at a distance from the autobahn, which is an unnecessary expense for fuel. In addition, the parking space is quite expensive, and to stay near rivers and lakes is fraught with a fine.

And yet, these difficulties are incomparable to the comfort that travelers get in motorhomes or in cars with trailer homes. Independence from weather conditions and services imposed by hotel guides, full service always at hand are the main advantages of independent travel.

For the beginning…

Water transport is a type of transport that is used for cargo and passenger transportation by waterways. These can be either natural (rivers, lakes, seas and oceans) or artificial (canals, reservoirs) waterways. The main means of transport is the ship.

The history of water transport begins in ancient Egypt. Until the second half of the 19th century, when transcontinental railroads were created, the most important mode of transport was water (both river and sea). Even today this type of transport plays an important role: from 60% to 67% of world freight turnover is accounted for by river and sea ships.

Design of the Ship

The classic concept of water transport is a ship, a boat, a yacht. But kayaks, inflatable boats, barges, catamarans, hovercrafts, as well as drilling rigs, screen-planes, screen-jets, seaplanes also belong to the category of vessels.

Most sea- and river-going ships have a number of design elements in common:

  • Hull
  • Superstructures, deckhouses
  • Ship power plant
  • Shipboard machinery
  • Ship systems and pipelines
  • Equipment and electrical facilities

But there are distinctive features for some ship categories, such as a screen-plane and a seaplane. For the most part, they are airplanes, but their hull is designed on the boat principle.

A ship’s hull is a watertight shell which makes the vessel float on water. The end of the hull is fitted with beams called stays. A stem is a beam that is installed at the bow of the ship’s hull. As well as the bow ends, they can be equipped with vertical end walls for tug or pusher ships. Vessel hull is usually made of steel.

Passenger ships have decks, while river and mixed-sea vessels have one deck – the main one. Marine passenger ships have several decks – upper (main), middle, lower. Large passenger ships navigating lakes have two decks.

To make the ship unsinkable, its hull is divided by inner watertight transverse bulkheads. This creates several rooms – compartments.

A motor-home is to meet the sunrise in a pine forest, and the next day to rush to the sea. You don’t have to think about where to sleep and when to book tickets. Work remotely and visit new places. Many people dream of such a trip, but only a few dare.

Where is the best place to travel in a house on wheels?

Let’s start with the fact that traveling by motorhome is easier than many people think. Especially those who work remotely will appreciate the motor home. Such a car is quite autonomous, so it is not difficult to recharge the gadgets. As for the route, in Europe, for example, in the spring all the roads are loaded with motorhomes.

Traveling in the U.S.

In the U.S., you won’t be able to spend the night anywhere. There you can stay overnight either in specialized campsites or in the parking lot of Walmart supermarkets. Just become a savage somewhere in the countryside and meet the sunrise in your motor home is unlikely.

In America it is strict, because almost everything consists of private property. The culture of motor homes is so developed there that a large number of, let’s say, semi-homeless individuals, live exactly this way. No one is happy for them, and as soon as you want to park somewhere in the village, literally five minutes later you will already run into the police. It’s the same with nature – there are certain places where you can stay in a motor home, and where you can’t.

Traveling in Europe

Europe is something between Ukraine and America. There are a huge number of campsites there, and at the same time stops outside and in nature are quite common. Everyone cleans up after themselves, no one drains the dirty water. So you can comfortably travel between campsites there and have no problem staying outdoors.
How to choose the right a house on wheels?

  • First of all, you should choose the motor home based on the number of travelers. If there are 1-2 people, you can do with all-metal van, for example, based on Fiat Ducato. If 3-4 people, then it is necessary to choose an alcove motorhome, which has two beds: one in the back and another one over the driver’s cabin.
  • Definitely do not buy super-expensive option at once – better to rent first. Well and if it is absolutely impatient, you can take a used one on the secondary market.
  • Looking for motorhome ideally abroad. Most a houses on wheels are bought in Europe, because our market is poorly formed in this respect.
  • You should not invent your own motor home – it is very expensive and time-consuming. Ready-made solutions are much more practical – as a rule, their production is engaged in atelier and thinks through all the details, down to the furniture fittings, heating system, and so on.
  • As for America, there are only a few states where you can buy a car for a foreigner – Vermont, Alaska, California, and Washington. In other states you cannot officially buy a car as a tourist.
  • You have to understand where you are going to put the motor home at the end of your trip. In America and Europe, just park it on the side of the road and leave it will not work. There are fines for that.

Caravanning as a trend, direction and way of life has been around for almost a century. One hundred years ago, Henry Ford launched mass production of the legendary Lizzie. Immediately after the automobile became available to many, Americans began to drive along and across the continent in search of adventure and much-loved freedom. With travel in automobiles and began caravanning. A little later came the first motor homes, and since then caravanning has forever occupied a place in the hearts of many Americans, then Europeans. And now it is increasingly capturing the minds and thoughts of Russian fans of auto travel.

Over a century of history, a huge number of different models have been created to meet the varying needs and financial capabilities of the traveler. The caravanning market offers different types of campers to choose from. Depending on the budget and needs, you can buy a tent trailer or a living trailer, or you can surprise your neighbors with a luxury camper, equipped with the latest technology and fashion. Let’s try to understand the main types of houses on wheels.

Home on Wheels

Motorhomes are built on a car chassis. In the European classification, there are four types of motorhomes: residential minivans, alcoves, semi-integrated and integrated campers. In the American classification, motorhomes are divided into three classes: Class A, Class B, and Class C.

Integrated motorhome

The main difference between an integrated motorhome and others is the unique design. For the production of such motorhomes, the manufacturer uses only serial engine, transmission and suspension.

The cabin of such a motorhome is fully integrated into the living space, hence the name of this type of motorhome. Integrated motorhomes are high-class cars. As a rule, they have an expensive finish and design, equipped with advanced electronic systems, hence the cost.

Dwelling trailer

A vacation home on wheels is the most comfortable type of home on wheels. Dachas on wheels are often purchased by those who prefer stationary camping and relatively little road travel.

There are caravans of different sizes on the market. There are living trailers, in which a bed and a kitchen unit fit, and there are caravans (summerhouses on wheels), the interior space of which is divided into several rooms.

Tent trailer

This is the most maneuverable and inexpensive type of living trailers. Despite its small size, a tent trailer makes a traveler’s vacation comfortable. A tent trailer can be transported by small passenger cars. To drive a vehicle with a tent trailer, you only need a category B license.

Modern trailer tents are equipped with a special mechanism that allows you to open it in a few minutes. Thanks to the folding mechanism, the tent takes up relatively little space and is easy to store.

– If you want a high-end luxury vehicle equipped with the latest technology, choose an integrated camper.
– If you want to go on a trip with a large company, take an alcove on wheels.
– If you need maneuverability, consider semi-integrated vehicles.
– Prefer a more stationary vacation with long stops at campsites, take a summerhouse on wheels. If you are a novice caravaner and do not have the money for serious acquisitions, consider tent trailers. Do not think of your holiday without difficulties and off-road trips, choose a living module for a pickup truck.

Opportunities for recreational vehicles are growing every year. Nowadays, in winter one no longer rides downhill on ice skates, but rides on snowmobiles and snowmobiles; in summer one does not walk, but rides on quad bikes. And for entertainment on the water there is its own type of equipment – a jet ski. Having “saddled” this machine, you can make your vacation at the sea or a country lake even more interesting and exciting.

Features of design and maintenance

A jet ski is no less complex technical device than a motorcycle or a snowmobile. In fact, it is a watercraft with a hull made of fiberglass, equipped with a two- or four-stroke internal combustion engine, which provides self-propelled transport. The jet ski was invented as a sports vehicle, but over time it has become very popular among fans of outdoor activities.

There are two types of jet ski design:

  • Standing – sport aquabikes: lightweight, maneuverable, reaching speeds of up to 120 km/h. Almost any modern sport jet ski is equipped with the ability to adjust the angle of the water jet nozzle (water pump to create jet thrust). This allows freestylers to perform complicated maneuvers, such as jumping over water.
  • Seating – recreational jet skis. They are most often two- and three-seaters, less maneuverable and faster than standing ones, but more stable and safer. They are ideal for walking. Also, the engine power of such jet skis may be enough to tow a water skier or parasailer.

Jet skis, like any other equipment, have their own peculiarities of maintenance, operation and transportation. Firstly, it is a “seasonal” vehicle, so to store it in winter you need to allocate space in a garage or a special box, and buy a cover. Secondly, for the transportation of aquabike to the place of direct use you need a trailer. Thirdly, immediately when buying a jet ski, life jackets should be purchased for each passenger and for the driver.

It must be remembered that a jet ski, seated or standing, is a small vessel and therefore it must be registered with the inspectorate within ten days of purchase and pay annual transport tax.

Although the aquabike design has a low draft, it cannot be used in shallow bodies of water, or in rivers with fast currents.

Choosing a jet ski, you must first of all, based on the purpose of its use: whether it is a sports jet ski for freestyle and professional training tricks on the water or a car for recreational boating with the whole family.
